Study MBA without IELTS

The application process for studying in foreign institutions involves for each candidate a different combination of aptitude exams. The scores from these exams in turn allow universities to gauge the potential of their prospective students. For the longest time, the GMAT and the IELTS/TOEFL scores have been considered part of documentation necessary to be submitted along with other application material for a potential admission in an MBA Program. While the GMAT is designed to assess Management Aptitude, the IELTS/TOEFL aims to analyse and quantify English Language Proficiency in an attempt to compare the language proficiency of non native speakers with the proficiency levels that would be expected from native speakers. The changing trends however, include a rise in universities willing to offer admissions into MBA Programs without the GMAT and IELTS/TOEFL requirements.

Highly ranked universities like the UCLA Anderson School of Management, the New York University Stern School of Business, the Kellogg School of Management , among others, are now offering admission without GMAT scores, provided the candidate reflects a good overall academic profile. In countries like Australia, Canada, Germany, and increasingly now in parts of the United States, among others, it is possible to pursue a graduate degree without having to provide IELTS/TOEFL scores. Universities in these countries offer a variety of alternatives ranging from a document proving the medium of study in the candidate’s previous institution was English, to an option of taking a course in the university to catch up on language proficiency.

This change is arbitrary exam requirements allows for a more flexible and economic application process for students, allowing a larger number of potential candidates to apply to universities to pursue an MBA Degree in a foreign institution.
